The goal of pregnancy counseling is to give expectant parents the opportunity to explore their pregnancy options. We provide accurate information, caring support, and a non-judgmental environment so that you can make the decision that is right for you and your child. All pregnancy counseling services are confidential; rest assured that we will not share anything about your situation without your prior consent.
Pregnancy counseling involves giving you information about the various types of adoption, talking about your feelings, thoughts, and hesitations, and providing you with support while you determine whether of not adoption is right for you. During this time, you will work closely with a social worker, as little or as much as you want, who will give you guidance and support unique to your special situation. You may discuss legal questions or problems related to your pregnancy. Your social worker can assist you with securing medical insurance and transportation to doctors appointments if needed.
After going through this process, you may decide to raise your child yourself; if this is the case, we provide local referrals for services that you might need during your pregnancy or after your child is born. If pregnancy counseling confirms that you want to make an adoption plan, you would then begin the adoption planning process with your social worker.
